Street and Public Lighting

Replacing ageing streetlights and installing new lighting infrastructure usually involves frequent movement between a number of job sites. Truck-mounted EWPs are a practical option for doing this.

Choosing an EWP for Energy and Powerline Work

Working around electricity infrastructure  gives you plenty to think about when it comes to choosing the right EWP. There’s working height, but don’t forget horizontal outreach, available stabiliser space, road positioning, ground conditions and taking onto account any electrical hazards present.

We’ve got a big fleet for hire at Performance Tower Hire, with everything from compact truck-mounted platforms through to our largest 54m high-reach units, and a spider lift too.

PTH201 | 20m Socage T320

PTH201 offers 20 metres of working height with 11 metres of horizontal outreach. It’s suited to lower-level utility infrastructure and general elevated maintenance. A relatively compact truck configuration makes it a good choice for street lighting, pole-mounted equipment and infrastructure work where larger vehicles would be unnecessary. This one is available for dry hire if you have a qualified crew.

PTH351 | 35m Socage TJ35

The PTH351 brings 35 metres of working height and an impressive 27 metres of horizontal outreach.

Mounted on an IVECO T-Way 4x4 chassis, this machine is particularly interesting for infrastructure projects where the setup location is separated from the work area by a substantial distance. Roadside obstacles, embankments and other physical restrictions can make that additional reach valuable.

PTH542 | 54m Socage TJJ54

Our PTH542 is built for jobs demanding considerable height and outreach. It delivers a 54-metre working height, up to 40 metres of horizontal reach and a 600kg basket capacity.

There's also a 1,500kg winch for suitable lifting operations. For major energy infrastructure projects requiring high-level access, the PTH542 offers capabilities well beyond those of a conventional smaller cherry picker.

Why Powerline Contractors Choose Performance Tower Hire

Operators with Relevant Qualifications

Electrical infrastructure work can require specialist operator credentials. We have M31A-qualified operators available for applicable jobs as well as experienced crew familiar with operating our high-reach equipment.

Serious Horizontal Reach

Power poles and infrastructure aren't always positioned beside a suitable truck setup area. With machines offering up to 40 metres of outreach, we can reach across substantial distances where site conditions permit.

Equipment for Different Project Scales

There's little point sending a 54-metre truck to a job that only calls for 16 metres of access. Our varied fleet lets us consider the work's actual requirements before recommending equipment.

Energy and Powerline EWP Hire FAQs

Yes. Performance Tower Hire supplies elevated access equipment for suitable powerline maintenance, utility infrastructure and energy-sector projects. Machine selection depends on the work involved, site conditions and applicable electrical safety requirements.

We have M31A-qualified operators available for relevant applications. Let us know the nature of the electrical work when enquiring so we can discuss the qualifications and equipment requirements involved.

Working near energised electrical infrastructure requires appropriate authorisations, exclusion distances, safety controls and equipment. Our machines must be individually assessed for suitability. A high-reach EWP or M31A-qualified operator alone does not authorise live electrical work

Our truck-mounted fleet includes equipment with substantial working heights and horizontal outreach. Whether a particular machine can be used at a roadside location depends on positioning, traffic management, ground conditions and other site restrictions.

Selected machines up to 20m can be dry hired by customers with appropriately qualified and experienced operators. The proposed work must also be suitable for the equipment being hired.

Yes, subject to availability. We recommend making arrangements early for shutdown-related work, particularly if you require a high-reach machine or specialist operator. Provide the scheduled work window and site details when requesting a quote.
