Don't choose an EWP on working height alone. Horizontal outreach can be just as important, because you often can't get the truck close to the base of the job site. Basket capacity also matters. Is it a one-person job? Or do you need to get a crew of two or three up?

PTH281 | 28m Cela DT28

Need a bit of extra height? The PTH281 is a mid-range EWP that comes into the picture when your telecommunications work is beyond a smaller EWP but doesn't need one of our largest trucks. It can reach taller antennas, telecommunications towers, and elevated network infrastructure.

PTH542 | 54m Socage TJJ54

The PTH542 is our largest EWP, with a 54m working height and up to 40m of horizontal outreach. A 600kg basket provides substantial capacity for technicians, tools and equipment, while the 1,500kg winch adds lifting capability. This is one for the big jobs.

Two Ways to Hire Your EWP

You may already have an experienced EWP operator in your telco crew. Or you may want an experienced operator to take care of running it for you. Both options are available at Performance Tower Hire.

Wet Hire with Our Operator

One of our operators arrives with the machine and manages its operation throughout the wet hire. Your technicians stay focused on their work with antennas, cabling and network equipment. We concentrate on getting them into position. Our larger truck-mounted EWPs (above 20m working height) are supplied on a wet hire basis.

Dry Hire

For telco contractors with an appropriately licensed and experienced operator, selected machines can be hired without a PTH operator. Dry hire is available on selected machines up to 20m. It makes sense for smaller, regular recurring jobs.

Access is a major factor when it coems to working at heights. Buildings, narrow entrances, landscaping, uneven terrain and restricted setup areas can all rule out a large truck. In those cases, a tracked spider lift is worth considering.
