Spider lifts are elevated work platforms named for their spider-like stabilising outriggers. They run on tracked crawlers instead of a truck chassis, allowing them to access sites a truck-mounted EWP can't reach.
Our Palazzani XTJ43 (fleet unit PTH431) is Italian-built and has been a popular addition to our EWP hire Brisbane fleet. Here are some of the standout features:
- 43m working height, 18m maximum radius. That’s serious reach for a compact machine, with tree canopies, telco work, and high rooflines all within range.
- 330kg basket capacity. Room for three crew and their tools, which covers most trade jobs.
- 660° turntable rotation with no tailswing. The boom turns without the tail sweeping out behind it, which works well in tight indoor spaces.
- 38% slope capability. The XTJ43 handles slopes that would need more ground prep for a truck-mounted EWP.
- Tracks that retract to 1.35m. It squeezes through narrow access, then spreads out again for stability.
- Four independent outriggers. Each one moves separately, so the machine can set up on slopes or around obstacles.
- Low ground pressure. The tracks spread the weight over a large area, leaving sensitive flooring intact.
- Basket-to-ground intercom. Crew in the basket and on the ground stay in clear contact, no shouting or hand signals required.
