EWP Wet Hire in Brisbane and SEQ

Performance Tower Hire makes EWP machine and operator hire easy.

Our wet hire option means we send the right truck-mounted EWP to your site with a fully licensed operator running it.

They know the EWP inside out and can get straight to work. Compliance is taken care of, and there’s no messing around getting your team familiar with a new machine.

Ready to make a wet hire booking? Get in touch and let’s figure out the right elevated work platform for your job.

What Sets Our Wet Hire Option Apart

One single booking that covers the machine and the operator sounds like a seamless way to go, but wet hire can still cause headaches. Maybe the machine hasn’t been regularly serviced and breaks down on the job. Maybe the operator is inexperienced and doesn’t know how to approach your job.

At Performance Tower Hire, you always get an operator who's fully licensed, M31A (electrical Spotter) qualified and familiar with every unit in our fleet. They’re fully trained and experienced in all aspects of safety and compliance, and you can rest assured they’ll have the appropriate safety gear with them.

Our machines are serviced and log-booked to AS 2550, the Australian Standard for the safe use and inspection of elevating work platforms. Service records are current and available. They’re ready for long days of working at heights.

When Wet Hire Works

Wet hire is a great option if the following apply:

  • Nobody on your team has the correct licence for the EWP for the job (All Performance Tower EWPs exceed 11m working height, so a WP High Risk Work Licence is required.)
  • It’s a tricky job where operator experience is essential.
  • You don’t have the manpower to perform a job.
  • You’re on a tight schedule and want the job completed on time.

Our Entire Fleet is Available for Wet Hire

Every EWP in our fleet is available for wet hire. We have truck-mounted EWPs ranging in working heights from 16 metres to 54 metres.

PTH201: Socage T320

20m working height. Compact and manoeuvrable. Suited to residential maintenance, painting, signage, and sites where a small footprint matters.

PTH281: Cela DT 28

28m working height. Our most-booked unit for tight-access work. Isuzu 4x2 chassis, 3-person basket. A firm favourite for arborists, electricians and painters working in suburban Brisbane and surrounding areas. This little unit doesn’t stop.

PTH301: ACM300

30m working height. Mercedes Benz 4x4 chassis. Handles mixed terrain without hesitation. Consistently chosen for powerline construction and maintenance, along with Arbor and rural jobs where a 4x4 is the difference between getting on site and not.

PTH351: Socage 35TJ

35m working height. Iveco T-Way 4x4 chassis. Unmatched horizontal outreach makes it the go-to for multi-storey facade work, arboricultural jobs with awkward reach requirements and signage installations.

PTH431: Palazzani XTJ43 Spider Lift

43m working height. Our spider lift goes where trucks can't. From soft and slippery hillsides to confined setup spaces or sites with sensitive surfaces plus indoor applications. Minimal ground footprint. Also capable of being used as a 500kg winch.

PTH541: Socage TJJ54

54m working height. IVECO Astra 8x8 chassis, 600kg basket capacity. Our heavy lifter. Most hirers won't have an operator with the experience or current certification to run this machine efficiently. Wet hire on the PTH541 & PTH542 is the smart and practical choice for most jobs

Our EWP Operators

Some EWP operators hold the right license but don’t have experience in a variety of jobs or a particular machine. Our operators are trained professionals who do this every day - they have thousands of hours of experience on our machines.

Performance Tower Hire wet hire operators are:

  • WP High Risk Work Licence holders (required for all machines in our fleet)
  • M31A-qualified, which means we have the Energy Authorities approved operational processes and risk assessments to allow us to work on jobs near live electrical infrastructure. For electrical contractors and arborists working near power lines, this qualification is often the deciding factor when choosing wet hire.
  • Experienced across every unit in the fleet.
  • Trained to carry out thorough pre-start checks, safety harness compliance, outrigger setup, and ground crew coordination.

Our operators become part of your crew for the duration of the job. Site setup is fast, the work moves quick and you’ll be onto the next job before you know it.

What Industries Choose Wet Hire?

Performance Tower Hire caters to a wide array of Brisbane businesses. Although all businesses will benefit from Wet Hire, Here are some of the industries regularly opting for wet hire:

Arborists

The M31A qualification means our operators can run an EWP where powerline proximity is a factor. That's not something you can easily arrange separately on short notice.

Electrical and Telco Contractors

When a specific machine is needed for a run of work, wet hire keeps your licensed operators on the jobs they're already committed to.

Painters and Signage Crews

You're there to do the work. Wet hire means the machine is handled, from setup to pack-up, so your team focuses on the task, not the EWP.

Construction managers

When the EWP is one piece of a bigger site, you want it to arrive fully operational and self-sufficient. Wet hire does that.

The machine and a fully licensed, M31A-qualified operator. The operator handles pre-start checks, site setup, machine operation, and pack-up. Fuel, Tolls and operator costs are covered in the hire rate — confirm at quote stage if your job has specific requirements around hours or overtime.

If powerline proximity is a factor on your site, our operators hold M31A qualification and can provide approved spotter services. Discuss the site conditions at the quote stage and we'll confirm what's needed.

Yes. Short-term and long-term hire are both available. A single-day booking is no problem — just give us enough lead time to confirm the right machine for your job.

We're based in Geebung, North Brisbane, and service jobs across Brisbane and South East Queensland and beyond. If you're unsure whether we cover your area, give us a call.

Wet hire: machine plus our licensed operator. Dry hire: machine only, operated by your own licensed team.

That's what the quote conversation is for. Describe the job (height, site, access, trade) and we'll point you to the right unit. Our EWP hire guide is also a good starting point.
